Korea Association for Financial Crime Prevention Hosts Seminar on Crypto Crime Investigation

The Korea Association for Financial Crime Prevention, in collaboration with the National Police Training Institute and the Korean National Police University’s Center for Financial Crime Analysis, held a seminar on “Tracking Crimes in the Virtual Asset Space” at the National Police Training Institute, the association announced on June 10.
The event was attended by over 200 frontline investigators from across the country and aimed to strengthen investigative capabilities and analytical skills in response to the recent surge in cryptocurrency-related crimes.

In the private sector, Bonanza Factory, a digital asset compliance company, was invited to share technical response strategies.
Tae-woo Han, Executive Director at Bonanza Factory, delivered a presentation titled “Data Collection and Traceability at Crypto Exchanges,” highlighting techniques for analyzing exchange-based transaction data and showcasing examples of collaboration between private firms and law enforcement.
Following this, CEO Young-seok Kim gave a talk on “Emerging Trends and Case Studies in Crypto-Related Crime,” introducing real-world examples of criminal activity in Korea and outlining strategies for private-sector response and risk mitigation.
